"How are You?" Distress Ink Card

I'm back!

Today's second post is more of a complex card that involves several steps, including lots of embossing and distress inking. Without further ado, I am going to show you the card and then explain a couple of the steps.

This post features many techniques that I have not yet shown on my blog. In this case, I have shown ombre distress inking on an embossing resist. Basically, this means I stamped and embossed an image, and inked on top of the embossing, which resists the ink.

  1. Step one: Stamp and emboss (stamp with embossing ink, apply embossing powder, heat with heat tool) your background image
  2. Apply the distress ink (with the applicator). First start with one color at the edge of the embossed cardstock with medium pressure and lighten the pressure as you reach the middle.
  3. Do the same as step to for the second color on the opposite side.
Now you should have cool ink ombre effect with a beautiful background!

The rest of the card is fairly simple- mostly cutting and adhering along with the stamping and embossing of the sentiment. The colors I chose resembled green grass and the sky above, so I punched out a couple of cute bunnies to put hopping around on the grass.

I hope I can create a video on distress inking soon *hint hint*.

Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL Cardstock, Bazzill BLACKBIRD Cardstock
  • Stamps/Ink: Impression Obsession C-A-C FLUFF Stamp, Inkadinkado HAPPY SPRING DAY Stamp Set, Versamark Ink, Inkadinkado WHITE LINEN Embossing Powder, Tim Holtz BROKEN CHINA Distress Ink, Tim Holtz FOREST MOSS Distress Ink, Tim Holtz PEELED PAINT Distress Ink
  • Embellishments/Other: Martha Stewart SITTING BUNNY Punch, We R Memory Keepers CORNER CHOMPER

"Miss U" Card

Hello, all!

First of all, I must apologize for not posting the cards last weekend that I had promised I would as my wi-fi was completely out (On a side note, I am extremely grateful for 4G and LTE, or I may have not survived!)!!! But I promise you that I will do a couple extra posts today as for compensation.

Today's post is an extremely simple card that I made a couple months ago for my grandparents. It has a bright, lively tone, and the patterned paper- My Mind's Eye SWEET GIRL 6x6 Paper Pad- is multipurpose and can be used for several occasions. I simply cut a couple strips from the paper pad and adhered them so they were varying lengths and embellished them with a personalized sentiment from American Crafts White ROOTBEER FLOAT Thickers.

Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill ALMOND CREAM Cardstock, My Mind's Eye SWEET GIRL 6x6 Paper Pad
  • Embellishments/Other: American Crafts White ROOTBEER FLOAT Thickers, Faux Black Pearls, We R Memory keepers CORNER CHOMPER
SEE YOU SOON!

Garden-style "I Love You" Card

Hello, everyone!

I apologize for the lack of posting but I've been quite busy so... in compensation I'm going to put on 3 MORE posts this weekend! This first card is similar to the "'Just Because' Flower Cards," as I used mostly die-cut shapes for the cards, showing how quick and simple they can be. To add some varied dimension, I used dimensional adhesive for some of the embellishments, while for I simply adhered others straight to the card. So let's jump into the card!

**Be sure to answer the question @ the bottom of this post in the comments! Thanks!**

 Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill KRAFT Cardstock
  • Embellishments/Other: Basic Grey ORIGINS Pieces Die-Cut Shapes, We R Memory Keepers CORNER CHOMPER
**I was wondering if I should begin making videos of my card-making, post them on YouTube, and attach the videos on here. I think making videos would also help the publicity of my cards/blog as well. So what is your opinion? Please feel free to answer in the comments! :)**

"AEIOU Missing U" Card

Hey, there!

For today's post, I made a simple card using some patterned paper and vellum. This, in fact, was the first time I used vellum and embossed on it. The patterned paper actually was from a journal card stack- We R Memory Keepers (Albums Made Easy) 4x6 Journaling Cards (The patterns in it are sooo cute!). I didn't happen to have any vellum adhesive, so I cut out two paper strips to adhere on the top of the vellum so the adhesive would be hidden underneath and used brads to secure the sides.

 Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL Cardstock, We R Memory Keepers (Albums Made Easy) 4x6 Journaling Cards, The Paper Company Vellum
  • Stamps/Ink: Hero Arts YEAR ROUND SENTIMENTS Stamp Set, Versamark Ink, Inkadinkado WHITE LINEN Embossing Powder
  • Embellishments/Other: Basic Grey OLIVER Glazed Brads, We R Memory keepers Corner Chomper
Have a great day!

Snowman Christmas Card

Hey!

How's your Saturday going so far? As you can tell, today's card is obviously Christmas themed, and, as we reach mid-November, I think it would be a good idea to start creating and stocking em' up for the holidays! The stamp that I used today is an extremely old (2001) one from Stampin' Up- A MERRY SEASON- which I found recently at a nearby scrapbook store "garage sale." However, it was fun Copic coloring a larger stamp. Chances are you probably don't own such an old stamp, but you could still use the inspiration.

Copic Colors: C3, E37, R29, R32, Y17, Y21, YG03, YR04

Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill KRAFT Cardstock, Bazzill PHOENIX Cardstock, Bazzill LIME CRUSH Cardstock, Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL Cardstock

  • Markers/Pens: Copic SKETCH Markers, Uniball Signo WHITE BROAD Gel Pen
  • Embellishments/Other: Stickles CRYSTAL Glitter Glue, Stickles CHRISTMAS RED Glitter Glue
Hope today's post inspires you to do some of your own Christmas Copic coloring!

BOO! Halloween Card

Happy Halloween!

Sorry I haven't posted for a while, as I've been extremely busy! Fortunately, things winded down a bit this week, so I get to go back on my blog schedule (Thank goodness!).

Today's post is a (sort of late) Halloween card which is sorta simple and elegant. In fact, I made another halloween card last week, but I was not really satisfied with the way it turned out. Anyhow, I loved this Eerie POISON patterned paper (which is the perfect Halloween pattern) from Basic Grey, and that inspired me to make the card.

*I wanted to display the entire pattern of the paper, so I used it as the background below!

Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill KRAFT Cardstock, Bazzill HILLARY Cardstock, Bazzill RAVEN Cardstock, Basic Grey Eerie POISON Patterned Paper
  • Embellishments/Other: American Crafts White ROOTBEER FLOAT Thickers, Hero Arts PLAIN WHITE Tag, Uniball Signo WHITE BROAD Gel Pen

"Baby Girl" Card

Hellllooo, all!

Today's project is a super simple and quick card and tag combination that focuses on a complex embellishment. I found this particular embellishment at a craft market, but you could also make something like this using some punches and a Sillhouette or you could hand-cut the shapes. This is a great concept to use especially when you're in a hurry to make a card. All I really did extra was some embossing and adhering :)!

Supplies:

  • Cardstock: Bazzill PINKINI Cardstock, Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL Cardstock
  • Embellishments: Baby Shoes Scallop Circle Embellishment, Faux pearl (large), Brown ribbon
  • Stamps/Ink: Hero Arts ADORABLE BABY GIRL Clear Stamp Set, Tsukineko VERSAMARK Ink, Inkadinkado WHITE LINEN Embossing Powder
  • Punches: Fiskars SCALLOPED SENTIMENT Border Punch, 1/4" Hole Punch
  • Other: Cuttlebug A2 BABY'S BREATH Embossing Folders

Have a great day!

"BROWN Eyes" Scrapbook Page

Hey guys!

As you can tell from the title, today's post is yet another scrapbook page that I made quite a while ago, actually, and I thought that you could use some ideas from it. I don't want to call it a clean and simple style or a shabby chic style, so let me put it this way: shabby but simple.

So, here you go!

If you look closely, you can see the paint splatter in the background which I created by mixing gray acrylic paint and water to form a thin consistency (like a mist) which would be easy to splatter and not 'glob' up (I didn't have any gray colored mists.).

See you all soon!

"Smile, Cause' it's SUMMER" Scrapbook Page

Hello, my dear blog readers!

Now, today's 'project', as you can tell, is not a card, as it is an 8.5" x 11" premade scrapbook page (If you would like to purchase this page, click on the Etsy link to the right side of this post.). This season-oriented has many different vibrant colors, has a playful scheme, and has lots of dimension, In case you didn't know, I usually don't hand cut out paper, but in this case, I had to for the whale, fish, and clouds because I didn't have any dies or punches which would suit the project in terms of shape and size.

Anyhow, feel free to gather inspiration!

Tip: When hand-cutting shapes (from paper, in this case), sometimes it is a good idea to add glitter on the edges to hide any mis-cuts or blemishes.

Hope you liked it and see y'all soon!

Bright Flowers w/Copics Card

Hello, all!

Today's post is mainly focused on some stamping and Copic coloring. So far, this is one of my favorite cards because of the vivid colors which 'pop' to your eye. Also, I've colored and cut several of the flowers and leaves on a seperate sheet of cardstock and mounted them on foam adhesive. In addition, it can be used for various occasions (birthday, hello, thinking of you, even baby), but in this case, I stamped a 'Thank You' sentiment on it.

P.S. The card base is a navy blue color (you can't see it that well)

As you can tell, I haven't colored much shadow in the flowers, but some of their colors range from dark to light, from the interior, and vice versa.

Copic Sketch Marker colors: R22, R29, R32, YR07, YR04, Y17, Y2, YG03, YG63, B32, B34, V06, V127 & V15
Tip: If some of the color goes outside the lines or you get unwanted colors in places, (inky fingerprints, don't you just hate 'em?) use a white gel pen to hide the mistakes.

Supplies:

Hope you got some inspiration!

Thanks for visiting!
