Loving You Card

Hi!

Well, it is about time I start blogging! I was stuck with a nasty flu. Never good.

Anyhow, I am back (and no, I didn't abandon you guys), and here's a Valentine's Day card I had made a while back before my illness struck.

So, the card is a standard size (4.25" by 5.5"), and its made with Bazzill ALMOND CREAM cardstock. The first thing I did was cut out a 1.5" wide strip of patterned paper out of a Dear Lizzy NEOPOLITAN 6 x 6 Paper Pad by American Crafts. Next, to get the placement of the circles right, I punched out 3 1" circles with an EK Success 1" CIRCLE PUNCH from some scrap computer paper (masking paper would work too). Then I temporarily adhered them to the card, where I punched them out to create the circles in the front flap of the card. For the hearts inside the punched circles, I punched out 3 small hearts with Stampin Up!'s SMALL HEART Punch. Adhered them with foam adhesive, and then to give a glassy/glossy sheen to them, I added Inkssentials GLOSSY ACCENTS and just spread it around each of the hearts. After that, I cut and adhered another strip of patterned paper, measuring 1" wide, right above the previous piece of patterned paper. Next, for the sentiment, I used VERSAMARK Ink and Stampendous DETAIL WHITE Embossing Powder to stamp and emboss with BasicGrey's LOVING YOU MORE EACH DAY stamp set (For some reason, I couldn't find the site where I got this from :(.). Lastly, I used some brown ribbon (Can't remember the specs. Sorry!) to wrap around the top of the strip of patterned paper (Adhered it on the inside of the card.) To finish it off, I tied a bow and adhered it with a glue dot on top of the ribbon.

Focus On: Felt (Day Two)

Hi all!

Well, I am happy to finally post the the second day of our Focus on: Felt (due to many inconveniences). I am almost better, but... I now have laryngitis (Darn it! I have a presentation at work tomorrow!) :(.

Today, I am using the MARJOLAINE WOOLIES from BasicGrey. Maybe just by a coincidence it happens to be a Mother's Day Card (Not!)...

First, I cut and scored the card base (4.25" x 5.5") out of Bazzill OCEAN BREEZE cardstock. To create scallop border, I punched 6 circles out of Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL cardstock with EK Success 1" CIRCLE PUNCH. I adhered (My tip for adhering circles is to run a line of adhesive where you want to adhere the circles.) them to the bottom of the front flap of the card, leaving about 1/2" of each circle showing. Next, I cut and adhered a .25" x 5.5"strip from Bazzill HOT FUDGE cardstock to offset the two light colors aside each other. For the main focus point of the card, I cut a 3.5" square out of the same Bazzill HOT FUDGE cardstock, rounding the two right corners. After that, I just put on the three felt embellishment flowers. Using Hero Arts CELEBRATE EVERYDAY Stamp Set, I stamped on the Mother's Day sentiment with VERSAMARK Ink, and added Stampendous DETAIL WHITE Embossing Powder and melted it.

First, I came up with a sore throat...

...Next, I got a fever. Then, I couldn't blog.

Hi y'all.

For today's post, I would've done Focus on Felt: Day Two, but I came up with an annoying sore throat and a mild sickness :(. Also, it was too late in the evening to take pics of the card with natural light :(.

I'll probably post the card over the weekend or early next week, when I feel a bit better.

Sorry for the postponed post (Ha!).

Anyways, have a great weekend, and come back soon!

Focus On: Felt (Day One)

Hi guys!

Ok, so I wanted to unravel the new year with a Snippety Starter* with a focus on felt embellishments that I seem to be collecting (no, not hoarding). Today, I'm working with the TOYS FOR BOYS embellishment pack from PEBBLES. So, let's jump straight into the card...

Listed below are the products I used:

Also, instead of making it a Father's Day card, you could make it a baby boy card, a travel card, or any type of masculine card using the embellishment as a focal point.

Hope you get some inspiration to work around your felt embellishments!
