Vintage Bookmarks

Hello!

This is going to be a quick post (I hope!) on a project I did a couple days ago for one of my mother's colleagues who was retiring. Since she was extremely fond of reading, I made her a set of 6.5" x 2" bookmarks. Most of the patterned paper I used was from My Mind's Eye Miss Caroline DOLLED UP collection and the Miss Caroline FIDDLESTICKS collection (Love the vintage look!).

Tip: An easy way to add deeper meaning to a project is to add quotes or sayings. On these bookmarks, I simply printed out these quotes from the web onto cardstock.

Hope this gave you some ideas on how to make your own personalized bookmarks.

Stamped B-Day Card

Hi all, and happy Wednesday!

Today, I wanted to share with you an extremely quick and easy birthday card to make (I am running seriously low on them!) using the Hero Arts YEAR ROUND SENTIMENTS Stamp Set. I am still trying out different stamping inks, and I seem to like these Memento Ink colors.

Please excuse the most horrible iPhone picture... :(

Tip: When stamping images in a straight line, take a ruler and draw a line on top where you want to stamp your images. If you have an acrylic block that has gridlines on it, align the gridlines with the line you drew.

Quick Update

Hello, everyone!

I just wanted to inform you that I haven't neglected my blog :). As a matter of fact, I made the card for the next post last weekend, but life's been so busy lately, that I didn't have a chance to post yet! But don't worry, the next post will be coming up within a day or two.

Simple Stamped Card

Happy Sunday, everyone!

Today I am sharing with you a simple card that mainly focuses on repeated stamping. I used three of my favorite colors of American Crafts Pigment Ink- LEAF, GRAPEFRUIT, and CLAY. As far as inks go, I am still trying various brands out, but I seem to be liking these American Crafts ones. I used the LOVING YOU MORE EACH DAY stamp set from BasicGrey (it was out on  my desk from a previous card, as you know), and it seemed to fit virtually any occasion. Also, I created a matching envelope since the card wasn't a standard size, using my fabulous Martha Stewart SCORING BOARD.

So, here we go...

The cut and scored card base is made out of Bazzill ALMOND CREAM Cardstock and has the dimensions of a 4" square. On top of it is a 3.75" square, made with Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL Cardstock, where I stamped my images.

Tip: When stamping images in a straight line, take a ruler and draw a line on top where you want to stamp your images. If you have an acrylic block that has gridlines on it, align the gridlines with the line you drew.

After I did the stamping, I adhered the piece onto the card base, and tied some brown ribbon and a bow around it. I created the envelope, using Bazzill PALO VERDE Cardstock, for the card using the Martha Stewart SCORING BOARD and the envelope template that comes with it. At the end, I rounded the corner of the flap using my We R Memory Keepers CORNER CHOMPER.

Note: For 4x4 envelopes, you must start with a 6.5" square and score the diagonals at 2.5" gridlines.

Here's a video to guide you for making either 3x3 or 4x4 envelopes by babytweetums.
