"How are You?" Distress Ink Card

I'm back!

Today's second post is more of a complex card that involves several steps, including lots of embossing and distress inking. Without further ado, I am going to show you the card and then explain a couple of the steps.

This post features many techniques that I have not yet shown on my blog. In this case, I have shown ombre distress inking on an embossing resist. Basically, this means I stamped and embossed an image, and inked on top of the embossing, which resists the ink.

  1. Step one: Stamp and emboss (stamp with embossing ink, apply embossing powder, heat with heat tool) your background image
  2. Apply the distress ink (with the applicator). First start with one color at the edge of the embossed cardstock with medium pressure and lighten the pressure as you reach the middle.
  3. Do the same as step to for the second color on the opposite side.
Now you should have cool ink ombre effect with a beautiful background!

The rest of the card is fairly simple- mostly cutting and adhering along with the stamping and embossing of the sentiment. The colors I chose resembled green grass and the sky above, so I punched out a couple of cute bunnies to put hopping around on the grass.

I hope I can create a video on distress inking soon *hint hint*.

Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill COCONUT SWIRL Cardstock, Bazzill BLACKBIRD Cardstock
  • Stamps/Ink: Impression Obsession C-A-C FLUFF Stamp, Inkadinkado HAPPY SPRING DAY Stamp Set, Versamark Ink, Inkadinkado WHITE LINEN Embossing Powder, Tim Holtz BROKEN CHINA Distress Ink, Tim Holtz FOREST MOSS Distress Ink, Tim Holtz PEELED PAINT Distress Ink

"Miss U" Card

Hello, all!

First of all, I must apologize for not posting the cards last weekend that I had promised I would as my wi-fi was completely out (On a side note, I am extremely grateful for 4G and LTE, or I may have not survived!)!!! But I promise you that I will do a couple extra posts today as for compensation.

Today's post is an extremely simple card that I made a couple months ago for my grandparents. It has a bright, lively tone, and the patterned paper- My Mind's Eye SWEET GIRL 6x6 Paper Pad- is multipurpose and can be used for several occasions. I simply cut a couple strips from the paper pad and adhered them so they were varying lengths and embellished them with a personalized sentiment from American Crafts White ROOTBEER FLOAT Thickers.

Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill ALMOND CREAM Cardstock, My Mind's Eye SWEET GIRL 6x6 Paper Pad
  • Embellishments/Other: American Crafts White ROOTBEER FLOAT Thickers, Faux Black Pearls, We R Memory keepers CORNER CHOMPER
SEE YOU SOON!

Garden-style "I Love You" Card

Hello, everyone!

I apologize for the lack of posting but I've been quite busy so... in compensation I'm going to put on 3 MORE posts this weekend! This first card is similar to the "'Just Because' Flower Cards," as I used mostly die-cut shapes for the cards, showing how quick and simple they can be. To add some varied dimension, I used dimensional adhesive for some of the embellishments, while for I simply adhered others straight to the card. So let's jump into the card!

**Be sure to answer the question @ the bottom of this post in the comments! Thanks!**

 Supplies:

  • Paper: Bazzill KRAFT Cardstock
  • Embellishments/Other: Basic Grey ORIGINS Pieces Die-Cut Shapes, We R Memory Keepers CORNER CHOMPER
**I was wondering if I should begin making videos of my card-making, post them on YouTube, and attach the videos on here. I think making videos would also help the publicity of my cards/blog as well. So what is your opinion? Please feel free to answer in the comments! :)**
