Hey, everyone!
Today's post is a 6x6 mini scrapbook page. In fact, this was the first 6x6 scrapbook page I created and thought it would be a great substitute instead of a card for my dad's birthday. My inspiration for this project came from the Basic Grey BOWTIES Collection as it is more of a masculine themed paper stack (believe me, I don't use too many of them) and it has a whimsical feel to it as well. Normally, you would insert some photos on a mini page as this, but I didn't really plan to do this. In this project, I used a lot of new products and techniques as you will notice and I will tell you below!
You can see, I used some paper straws in the scrapbook page as borders. Instead of using ribbon or card stock for a border I chose to use paper straws. As you must know, paper straws are the "in" thing as far as most of the scrapbook world goes. *hint hint* You'll be seeing some more projects on paper straws soon to come! One technique I used in the project was hand-cutting three hearts. I decided to hand-cut them because they add to the whimsical. A tip I discovered when you cut curved shapes by hand is when you have those unruly jagged edges, simply rub them with a nail file and it will make the edges smooth and curvy! Supplies:
- Paper: Basic Grey BOWTIES 6x6 Paper Pad
- Embellishments/Other: Black & White Paper Straws, The Twinery MARASCHINO Baker's Twine, Studio 112 ALPHA TYPEWRITER Die-cut Stickers, Amy Tangerine Sketchbook BLACK JOURNAL Thickers
I'll be comin' back soon for another post!
